SkinPen Microneedling also known as, Collagen Induction Therapy, is an FDA approved anti-aging facial treatment that can be performed almost anywhere on the body. Most common treatment areas are your face, neck, and chest. SkinPen is a medical device that contains numerous small stainless steel needles. We start by numbing your face and neck with a topical lidocaine cream to ensure the treatment is comfortable. Then, using our SkinPen device, tiny micro-injuries are created throughout the face and neck. These micro-injuries create pin point bleeding in which rapidly stimulates collagen and elastin. Why is this important? Collagen and elastin is what keeps our skin looking youthful, firm, and bright. After the age of 24, we lose approximately 1.5% of collagen a year. Add the natural affects of aging, volume loss, and UV Sun damage in the mix, we start to experience fine lines and wrinkles, skin hyperpigmentation, uneven skin textures, etc. Skinpen Microneedling opens up three million microchannels which for up to 24 hours after your treatment will increase your cellular turnover rate. In basic terms, what we’re doing is stimulating your wound healing process to trick your skin into thinking its damaged so it creates healthy skin cells to heal. However, these micro-injuries do not actually damage the skin. In fact, they repair and heal it. SkinPen Microneedling helps to soften fine lines and wrinkles, firm the face neck and chest, reduces uneven skin texture, complexion, shrinks pores, reduces scarring, and so much more. 

Clients can add PRP on to their microneedling treatment for 20x the results. When adding PRP to your microneedling session, instead of microneedling in the skinpen gel, we are using your PRP to microneedle into your skin. PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. Our blood contains four components…red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Your platelet rich plasma is full of human growth factors that stimulates stem cells and rapid cellular turnover. If you’re looking for the most advanced results for skin tightening and a quicker healing time, we reccomend adding PRP to your treatment. PRP stimulates collagen and elastin tightening skin that is thinning from aging. This helps to smooth wrinkles and fine lines. It boosts collagen and improves overall skin texture and tone. It’s particularly great for clients who suffer from rosacea or acne. It is a $250 upgrade fee for members. Your Nurse Injector will draw your blood, spin it in our centrifuge to separate your blood, and then extract the PRP out for microneedling. You can also inject PRP after your treatment to soften under eye bags, dark circles, wrinkles, tighten the skin, reduce moderate scarring, etc. Please see PRP injections tab for more information. 

PRP injections is an advanced technique performed by a certified medical aesthetic nurse injector to rapidly stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin, providing skin tightening, firming, and rejuvanating results. Your face is numbed with a topical lidocaine cream. Your blood is drawn and spun in our centrifuge to separate the red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then extracted out of the tube and injected into the skin anywhere its needed. PRP is full of growth factors and stem cells which increase cellular turnover. It is ideal to inject under the eyes and crows feet to firm the skin softening creepe skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing dark circles. It is injected into areas where scarring is noticed. It can be injected in the nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, peri-oral area (smoker lines above the lips) and anywhere on the face where wrinkles, scarring, dull skin, or sagging skin is noticed. Results are seen within two weeks and continue to improve over the next three months as more collagen and elastin is stimulated. Results last up to a year and it is reccomended to perform 1-3 sessions for optimal improvement. You may perform PRP injection every 2-4 weeks. Some bruising and swelling is to be expected. Minor swelling can last 1-3 days and bruising can last up to a week. Clients are advised to begin taking arnica supplements and Zyrtec one week prior and one week after treatment to avoid excessive downtime. PRP injections are a $250 upgrade for members for a 15ml blood draw or a $300 upgrade for members for a 30ml upgrade. Non members will pay $475-$550. 

SkinPen Microneedling is stimulating your bodies natural cellular turnover rate and increasing your collagen and elastin production. It is a natural and completely safe method to help rejuvenate the face. Everyone can benefit from microneedling regardless of your skin type, concern, or color. It is a corrective and preventative anti-aging facial treatment. However, you must be 18 years of age or older to receive microneedling. Clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on accutane are not candidates for this treatment. 

A lot of first time clients are nervous about downtime and pain. Rest asssured, we numb you prior to your treatment so its tolerable. If you are nervous or have a low pain tolerance, you may always request us to numb you with our injectable strength numbing cream. It Is a $15 upcharge for the stronger lidocaine cream but most clients report their pain to be 0-1 out of 10 on a pain scale after being numbed. There is some downtime after your treatment, so please do not plan to recieve this treatment if you have a major event within the next two weeks. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will be red to pink and feel slightly sun burned for about 12 hours. Your skin will begin to heal overnight but may continue to be slightly pink for 1-3 days post treatment. 12 hours after being microneedled, you may use makeup or a tinted spf to cover up any redness. Although we prefer you stay makeup free for 24-48 hours allowing your skin to breath. Adding PRP or a HydroJelly Mask + Red Light Therpay to your treatment will help significantly reduce your downtime.

Your skincare specialist will help you decide which HydroJelly Facial Mask is best for your skincare concerns. We have over ten to choose from. For example, a Vitamin C Mask to lighten pigmentation and even your complexion, a Charcoal Mask to reduce blemishes and blackheads and detoxify the skin, Hylauronic Acid Mask for extra dry skin, or a Collagen Mask to soften fine lines and wrinkles. Regardless of which mask you choose, it will help significantly decrease your downtime, redness, and the sunburn sensation you feel post procedure. It helps to soothe and calm inflammation, as well as, hydrate the skin. You will enjoy the relaxing benefits of a cooling mask under Red Light Therapy for approximately 20 minutes. Red Light LED therapy uses infrared lights to detoxify the skin, increase blood circulation to the skin resulting in deccreased inflammation, promotes collagen and elastin, and vitamin D production. Facial is followed by an Epionce Enriched Firming Mask for adding skin tightening and moisture with a lymphatic drainage facial massage using our cryotherapy balls. 

Please discontinue use of any retinols, retinoids, and acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment. Please arrive with clean skin, and no makeup on. Don’t worry, if you are coming from work and happen to still have makeup on, we will be happy to clean it off. If you have an active sun burn, you may not receive your treatment. 

Your service provider will go over aftercare with you. We recommend our Epionce Esstential Recovery Kit to all clients post treatment from our facial services. It can be purchased for only $39. It includes a gentle cleanser, calming facial cream, an antibacterial oil to hydrate your skin, and an enriched firming mask to firm the face and provide moisture overnight.  After care is vital to ensuring your skin heals properly as well as maximixing the results from your treatment. Your service provider will go over after care with you at your appointment but the basics are as listed.

-Keep your skin moisturized! Use a moisturizer 1-3x a day. 

-Keep your skin clean- continue washing morning and night. 

-Stay out of the sun for 5-7 days post treatment and use spf.

-Avoid any harsh exfoliators, at home products that contain retinols, retinoids, or acids for 5-7 days post treatment. 

-Drink plenty of water. 

-Use the EvenTone or IntelliBright skincare regime to inhibit melanin production and even your complexion for best results. 

Evidence based research has shown that it takes one collagen induction facial for approximately six months to ensure best results. With that in mind, we usually recommend microneedling be performed 3-6 times. You may perform this treatment once every 3-5 weeks. Someone who is receiving microneedling for preventative measures may only need 1-3 sessions. While, someone who has skincare concerns such as deep wrinkles, uneven skin texture, large pores, or scarring, may need the full six sessions. Your service provider will assess your skin in person and together you will come up with a treatment plan. You may receive a microneedling treatment monthly, or you may rotate and try a microneedling session one month and a chemical peel, prp injection, Scarlet, or facial the next month.
