We recognize it can be a bit overwhelming getting injections. For this reason, we use a very strong prescription strength topical lidocaine cream and allow all of our clients to numb 15-30 minutes prior to their injections. You will still feel some things but overall the process is very tolerable. 

Please do not stress yourself out over which filler is best for you. We will always discuss this at the time of your appointment. All fillers are FDA approved and safe to inject. Some  last longer and may help create more volume. Others may be best for the area we are injecting and the concerns needing to be addressed.  Here is a brief summary to help put you at ease, but rest assured that we will discuss this at the time of your appointment. All you need to do is book for the appointment and prior to injecting-- we will  go over each filler, pricing, and help you determine which product will give you the best results. 

Versa: soft, natural filler used in the lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, perioral wrinkles, and under eyes. Versa lasts 6-9months. 

Restylane Kysse: soft natural filler used in the lips, nasolabial folds, or marrionette lines. Lasts up to 12 months. It has an expression technology meaning it moves freely with your facial expressions. While it allows your injector to create volume, it still feels soft in the lips. 

Restylane Defyne: Defyne is used in the lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin. It has the expression technology which allows for movement and a soft natural feeling wherever it is placed. However, it is a ”thicker” filler in terms of creating volume.  

Vollure: a higher g prime so it allows us to create more volume as it is a ”thicker” filler. Ideal for the lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. It is the longest lasting filler and will last approximately 12 months. 

Vobella: soft filler for a natural soft enhancement to the lips and helps to create hydration while softening wrinkles in the lips and peri-oral wrinkles (“smokers lines”). Lasts 9-12 months. 

Juvaderm Ultra: this is our thickest filler for ultimate volume and plump lips. May also be used in the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks, and chin. Lasts up to 12 months. 

Voluma: this filler is amazing as it lasts up to two years! It can be used in the cheeks, chin, jawline, nasolabial folds, or marionette lines. As well as peri-oral wrinkles, or anywhere mid face. 

Restylane Lyft and Restylane Contour: both of these fillers are used in the cheeks. Lyft can also be placed in the chin, jawline, and a few other areas on the face. It is a thicker filler similar to Voluma and yields great results when creating volume. This filler lasts up to two years. 

Belotero: this is our favorite filler in the tear troughs as it significantly softens under eye bags and creates a more refreshed and youthful appearance. We can also fan this filler into the peri-oral wrinkles or “smokers lines,” use it in the lips for soft subtle hydration, laugh lines//smile lines, etc. How long this filler lasts depends on what area we are injecting but generally speaking it lasts about a year. 

Please do not book for fillers any closer than a month before a major event, as we want you to have time to heal from your treatment. Most clients experience mild swelling and some may experience bruising after their treatment. Moderate swelling for 24 hours followed by 1-2 days of mild swelling is to be expected. Not all clients bruise, but bruising can last a few days to 1.5 weeks. You may cover up any bruising with a mask, makeup, or lipstick. Please refer to filler prep and aftercare instructions to ensure your swelling and bruising is minimal. 

All appointments include a consultation while you are numbing for your treatment. But if you are truly unsure if you would like to receive filler, please book for a consultation with a nurse. Consultations are $50, and the $50 will be credited onto your account to apply towards any service with us. Consultations are where we will come up with a treatment plan, discuss pricing, and schedule you for the services you are interested in. 

To ensure proper healing and less downtime, please follow these instructions 3-5 days prior to your appointment. 

Do not consume any alcohol. Discontinue use of any blood thinners (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen) as these things can cause additional swelling and bruising. Tylenol is acceptable. Do not discontinue blood thinners without physician approval if you are on a prescription medication. 

We sell a filler aftercare kit for $35 and highly encourage all clients to purchase it as it contains arnica tablets and gel, an ice pack/heating pack and a lip balm.  Arnica is a natural herbal supplement that should be taken/applied after your appointment for 5-7 days. It helps to reduce bruising and swelling and heals you faster. We have the Oral tablets and the gel. The gel will be applied to the areas of injections a few times a day. After your filler, you will ice the area that was injected for 5-10 minutes at a time 5-7 times a day. After the first 24 hours of icing, you may rotate ice first. Then, put your ice pack in the microwave for a few seconds and apply heat for a few minutes. Please ice your treatment area for 3-5 days or until healed. This helps to reduce bruising and swelling. Your lip mask can be applied the next day and left on for 15 minutes. It helps to hydrate and soften your lips. Your lips may get chapped post treatment so ensure you’re using your chapstick. Please avoid alcohol and blood thinners for 3-5 days post treatment. It takes a full two weeks for all filler to settle and heal. Be patient with then process and please reach out to us with any concerns. We ask all clients send us “after photos” in good lighting without any makeup on, once a day for two days post treatment. This is to ensure you are healing properly and assess for any signs of a delayed vascular occlusion. 

While a vascular occlusion is extremely rare, it is important to acknowledge as a risk of receiving fillers. A VO is a medical emergency and if left untreated, can cause complications such as skin necrosis. At Empire, your nurse injectors are certified, highly trained on facial anatomy, how to treat a VO, and always carry Hylanex (the dissolving agent for your fillers) in house to treat a VO. Empire Aesthetics Med Spa is overseen by a physician. Nurse Kaylee is a registered nurse with a bachelor in science and nursing and has years of experience in bedside nursing in a critical setting. Our nurses  have trained with top Nurse Injectors and Doctors in the country and continue to be mentored by the best aesthetic personnel there is. They will always ensure your safety and use their knowledge of facial anatomy to keep your risks to a minimum. Your injector will assess for any signs of a complication at your appointment, as well as ask you to send photos of your treatment area injected for two days post appointment. This is to ensure your safety is a top priority. Signs of a vascular occlusion include blanching, severe bruising that is traveling, mottling, and delayed capillary refill. Your injector will educate you on this at your appointment.
