Our laser hair removal device has a cooling effect to assist in reducing discomfort. Your hair goes through different growth cycles, so your laser hair removal process will take 6-10 sessions. Most clients require 6-8 sessions. This is to ensure we are hitting the follicle at different stages of growth. During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube shaped sacs wihtin the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. After each session, you will find that your hair is growing back patchy, and more fine. Eventually, you will notice your hair is not growing back at all. That is when you have completed your required sessions. Your provider will help answer any questions you may have. Please keep in mind that no laser hair removal device causes PERMANENT hair loss. As we age, our hormones change and we will experience slight hair growth again. While it will not grow back as coarse, it will require 1-2 maintenance sessions. Maintenance sessions should be performed every 1-2 years after you’ve completed your treatments. Maintenance sessions will be char the membership rate without ha to recommit to the membership, as you will only need 1-2 sessions. 

Because lasers see pigment, not everyone is a candidate for our laser hair removal device. Clients who are a FitzPatrick Scale of V-VI are not candidates for laser hair removal as the pigment is too dark and runs the risk of burning the skin. Clients who are on accutane or any photosensitive medications are not candidates for laser hair removal. Clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not receive laser hair removal. In addition, clients with a history of seizures or a pacemaker are not candidates for laser hair removal. As well as, anyone with an open wound or infection. 

It is vital to ensure you have prepared for your laser hair removal treatment. In order to ensure your safety and best results, you cannot have an active sun tan, UV bed tan, spray tan, or self tanner of any kind. We know a lot of clients like to spray tan or self tan and that is fine, but you must time it acccording to your laser hair removal sessions. For example, you can spray tan two weeks prior to your treatment. But you will need to ensure your spray tan is FULLY exfoliated off of your skin prior to your appointment and has been off of your skin for a few days. We also understand people live active lifestyles, you can in fact go outside and enjoy the weather. But please do not sunbathe by the pool a few days prior to your appointment as that runs the risk of burning your skin during your treatment. We ask our clients to stay out of the sun for about a week prior to your treatment. 

Please arrive with clean skin. No lotion, deodorant, perfumes, or skincare products on the area being treated. You will want to be FULLY shaved. However, shaving needs to occur 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please do not shave the day of your appointment, as that can leave the skin irritated. 

Your service provider will go over aftercare at your appointment but as a reference please use the following guidelines post treatment. Avoid sun exposure to the area treated one week after treatment. Avoid exfoliating or shaving for at least 72 hours post treatment. Avoid hot showers, baths, or saunas, and working out for at least 48 hours post treatment. Keep the area clean and moisturized.
